George Maynard Alexander, Jr., 84, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at DeTar Hospital in Victoria.
George was born April 19, 1940, in Robstown, Texas to George Maynard Alexander and Gena (Cox) Alexander. He was a 1958 graduate of A.C. Jones High School, Beeville, Texas, and member of the Baptist church. He was a dedicated man known for his strong work ethic that culminated in a successful career as a plant operator at DuPont.
George cherished the time living on his land, where he could often be found enjoying the tranquility of nature, accompanied by his dogs on the back porch as they watched deer roam nearby. His love for animals was evident, and he embraced every opportunity to connect with them.
Family was the cornerstone of George's life. He took great joy in spending time with his children, particularly attending his son’s basketball games, a testament to his support and pride in their endeavors. The laughter and love of his grandchildren filled his days with happiness, as he cherished every moment shared with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George M. and Gena Alexander.
George leaves behind a daughter, Kimberly Jackson of Little Elm, Texas; two sons, George (Carol) Alexander III of Victoria and Justin (Cecilia) Alexander of New Braunfels; two brothers, John Alexander of Beeville and Joe (Wanda) Alexander of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as 10 beloved grandchildren, Joshua Jackson, Lauren DeLaCruz, Parker Jackson, Austin Alexander, Andrew Alexander, Isabella Alexander, Aaron Alexander, Brandon Alexander, Kyle Alexander and Jake Alexander; six great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, February 20, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville with the funeral service at 2 o’clock.
Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Austin Alexander, Andrew Alexander, Aaron Alexander, Joshua Jackson, Lauren DeLaCruz and Parker Jackson.
