George Edward Hardin, loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle, was called home to be with our heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. He was 71.
George was born April 28, 1949 in Chanute, Kansas, to James Edward and Jewel Evadine (Cooper) Hardin.
George met his loving wife, Ruth Ok Hong, in Korea while serving in the U.S. Army. They would have been married 44 years on September 2, 2020. In 1968, one thing he was so excited about was his visit to the Holy Land in Israel. He proudly served America in the Army for 20 years and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Garza West Unit after 15 years. He was a faithful 25-year member of Beeville Baptist Church and his favorite Book was the King James Bible. He loved fishing and motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ok Hardin of Beeville; a son, James George (Brittany) Hardin; a daughter, Esther Ok (Micah) Hocson; two sisters, Esther Shipman and Marilyn Borrowman; his beloved grandson, Colton James Hardin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi with Pastor Tim Stowe officiating.
