George Prifogle

George Marlin Prifogle, 79, of Swinney Switch, died Saturday, April 22, 2017. Mr. Prifogle was born Jan. 2, 1938, to Charles A. and Florence (Wildridge) Prifogle in Connersville, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Air Force and in 1958, he married Virginia Schlather in San Antonio. He was a Protestant, a member of Hermann Sons and a rancher. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and carpentry. He was a foreman and operator for Three Rivers Gas Plant, retiring after 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Zane B. Prifogle and Rodney Prifogle; and one sister, Charlene Preston. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Prifogle; and a brother, Charles Prifogle. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West with Rev. John Sisk officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to South Texas Children’s Home.
