George A. Yendrey, passed away on October 6, 2016 at the age of 88. He was born on March 8, 1928 in Three Rivers, TX to Alex and Agnes Yendrey. He, with his wife Hannah, owned and operated City Appliance & Service Company in Three Rivers for almost 50 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over fifty years and one of the original Parishioners of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He served with the 45th Thunderbird Infantry Division in the Korean War. Although not a pilot, George was a lifelong Aviation enthusiast and a member of the Live Oak Co. Airport Commission. He was a devoted and loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. George was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Agnes Yendrey; wife, Hanna Pugh Yendrey; and sister, Cecelia Walker. He is survived by one son, Clayton Yendrey (Debbie) of La Vernia, TX. ; four daughters, Pat Startz (Richard) of Falls City, TX, Lisa Tam (Terry) of Kenedy, TX, Laura Antoine (Jim) of Georgetown, TX and Ann Yendrey of Austin, TX.; twelve grandchildren, Chrissy Stubbs (John) of Adkins, TX, Jennifer Scheffler (Chris) of La Vernia, TX, Chris Startz (Victoria) of Houston, TX, James Startz of Conroe, TX, Wendy Myers (Billy Clay) of Dallas, TX, Cheryl Villanueva (Derrall) of Porter, TX, Jason Tam of San Antonio, TX, Bradley, Lauren, and Allison Antonie of Georgetown, TX, and Kimberly Powell of Dallas, TX.; eleven great grandchildren, Kiana Startz, Emmaline and Alexander Startz, Darren and Madison Villanueva, Lincoln Gustafson, Hailey and McKayla Stubbs, Madilyn, Conner and Caden Scheffler; many nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Jim Pugh (Ruby) of George West, TX; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Maltese of Victoria, TX, Martha Davis (L.T.) of George West, TX, and Jane Pugh of George West, TX. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Galloway and Sons Chapel in Three Rivers, TX. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers, TX. Interment will follow at Gussettville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Startz, James Startz, Jason Tam, Derrick Villanueva, Jim Antoine, Bradley Antoine, Chris Scheffler and Billy Clay Myers.
