Gilbert Constante, Sr.

Gilbert Constante Sr., 47, of Papalote, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012. Mr. Constante was born June 13, 1965, in Beeville to Ester (Benavidez) and Guadalupe Constante Sr. He was a petroleum engineer for Empirica Oil and a Catholic by faith. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Selina Clevenger; paternal grandparents, Sostenes and Natividad Constante; and maternal grandparents, Tomasa and Teofilo Benavidez. Survivors include a son, Gilbert Constante Jr. of Beeville; parents, Ester and Guadalupe Constante Sr. of Pettus; siblings, Joe (Patricia) Constante Sr., Juan (Margaret) Constante and Albert (Regina) Constante, all of Tuleta, Natividad (Will) Constante, Beatrice (Carlos) Rey and David (Tracy) Constante, all of Pettus, Guadalupe (Angie) Constante Jr. of Normanna, Janice (Jeff) Hodge of Beeville and Adrian (Jessica) Constante of Brownsville; a son-in-law, Taylor Clevenger of Papalote; two grandchildren, Ethan and Kenzie Clevenger; 34 nieces and nephews; and 30 great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be recited Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Papalote. Pallbearers will be Joe Constante, Juan Constante, David Constante, Guadalupe Constante Jr., Albert Constante, Adrian Constante, Carlos Rey and Jeff Hodge.
