Gilbert Ruiz

Gilbert Ruiz 52, passed away on June 14, 2014, in Beeville. He was born in Kenedy, Texas, on June 25, 1961, to Salvador and Rita Ruiz. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an active board member of Three Rivers Independent School District, serving as vice president; he also served on the Live Oak County Fair Board; and was also actively involved in United Way with Valero. Gilbert was a resident of Three Rivers and employed with Valero Three Rivers Refinery. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dolores and Guadalupe Sanchez and Galdino and Lucia Ruiz, Sr. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 30 years, Patty Ruiz; children, April Guerrero and husband, Joe Bob of Three Rivers, Cody Ruiz and finance, Kristen of Three Rivers, Brodie Ruiz of Three Rivers; brother, Eddie Ruiz of Three Rivers; parents, Salvador and Rita Ruiz of Three Rivers; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Three Rivers Student Activity Center from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday visitation will be held at Galloway and Sons Chapel in Three Rivers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitation will continue at 5 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 7 p.m. at the Three Rivers Student Activity Center. Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church in George West with interment to follow at the Three Rivers Cemetery. Services entrusted to Galloway and Sons Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
