Gregoria Leal

Gregoria Carabajal Leal, 76, a lifelong resident of George West, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016. Mrs. Leal was born March 12, 1940, in Live Oak County to Martin and Zaragosa (Gamez) Carabajal. She married Faustino Vela Leal Sr. in George West on Sept. 7, 1957. She was employed at Staghorn Restaurant in Three Rivers for 30 years and T&T in George West. She was a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Juan Manuel "Blackie" Leal and Faustino "Tinito" Leal Jr.; and brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Martha (Mike) Baxter of Missouri; three sons, David (Crisy) Leal of Three Rivers, Tony (Becky) Leal of George West and Andrew (Jo Ann) Leal of Pollock, Louisiana; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dominga Rodriguez of George West. Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, with Mr. Pete Garza officiating. Burial will follow in the George West Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Valentin Villegas, David Leal Jr., Andy Leal Jr., Thomas Zuniga, Randal Coronado and Herman Caravajal. Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Pena, B.J. Thompson, Charles Beeson Jr. and Joe Zapata.
