Guadalupe Gonzales, Sr.

Guadalupe Gonzales Sr. of Nell, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019. He was 87.

Guadalupe was born August 21, 1931, in Nell, Texas, to Genaro Gonzales and Manuela (Carrion) Gonzales. He married Oralia Cruz on February 28, 1954, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission in Pawnee, Texas. He retired from Three Rivers ISD and was a farmer and rancher. He was an active and faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission and had a deep love for God and his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Genaro and Manuela Gonzales; and four sisters, Sipriana Olvera, Elida Salas, Maria Ochoa and Sofia Zambrano.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Oralia C. Gonzales of Nell, Texas; children, Janie Sepeda (Isabel) of Beeville, Rosa Morin, Guadalupe Gonzales Jr. (Sandra), Celia Garcia (Rudy) and Terry Rios (Raymond), all of Three Rivers, and Henry Gonzales (Debbie) of Nell. He was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers, Texas. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock.

The funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission in Pawnee with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Rios Jr., LJ Gonzales, Rudy Garcia Jr., Eric Morin, Brian Morin and Rudy Garcia III.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Rios and Rudy Garcia.

Burial will follow in Nell Cemetery in Nell, Texas.
