Guadalupe Quintanilla

Guadalupe "Lupe" E. Quintanilla of George West, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019. He was 81.

Lupe was born April 6, 1937, in Live Oak County to Jesus and Simona (Escamilla) Quintanilla. He was employed as a truck driver with Acme LP Gas Inc. in George West for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Catholic faith and active member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved his dog, "Peter," and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Josefina Cantu of George West, Texas; three daughters, Mary Jane Luther of George West, Texas, Cheryl (Adam) Wheeler of San Antonio, Texas and Dr. Brenda (Mike Jaynes) Cantu of Illinois; eight grandchildren, Catina Guevara, Casandra Gutierrez, Kindred Luther, Gabriella Wheeler, Marisol Wheeler, Julissa Wheeler, Alex Wheeler and Adam Wheeler Jr.; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West, Texas. A Rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock with Deacon Shayne Katzfey officiating.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019, at St. George Catholic Church with Father George Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Adam A. Wheeler, Marisol L. Wheeler, Catina N. Guevara, Mike Jaynes, Jose Gutierrez and Mike Rodriguez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gabriella Wheeler, Julissa Wheeler, Alex Wheeler, Adam Wheeler Jr., Jayden Luther Hernandez, Alina Guevara, Isabella Gutierrez and Arianna Gutierrez.
