Guss Arnold Kunze passed away on December 24, 2014 at the age of 94. He was born March 28, 1920 to Carl Herman Kunze and Ada Ethel Landrum in Riesel, Texas. He married Betty Florence Martens on November 24, 1945 in Falfurrias, Texas. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a resident of Beeville, TX, and Sinton, TX for 30 years prior to that. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, life member of Disabled American Veterans, life member of the 36th Division Association, member of VFW Post of George West. He served in U.S. Army WWII. He was an oil field worker and retired after 25 years with Reynolds Aluminum. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Florence Martens Kunze of Beeville, Texas; two daughters and one son, Joyce (Paul) Matula of Beeville, TX, Charles"Chuck"(Dawna) Kunze of George West, TX, Susan (Craig) Devenney of Katy, TX; five grandchildren, Cathy Hodge of Katy, Heather Kunze-Arredondo of Sandia, TX, Meagan Kunze-Nevarez of Round Rock, TX, Capt. Gaye Bobbitt of Enid, OK, and Jacqui Gailbeaux of Spring, TX, six great grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Ida Corine Kunze Howard of Brenham, TX, Rachel Melinda Kunze of Hearne, TX. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Galloway & Sons Funeral Home
