Gwenda Arms

Gwenda Lynn Minor Arms, 47, of Normanna, died Thursday, March 4, 2010. She was born Oct. 5, 1962, in Boerne, to George William and Gwen Penney Minor. She married Jesse L. Arms in New Braunfels on May 2, 1998. She was a certified nurses assistant and a member of the Normanna Baptist Church. Mrs. Arms was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Linda Daughtrey; a brother, Timothy Minor; her former husband, Lawrence J. (L.J.) Daughtrey; and a nephew, Robert Minor. Survivors include her husband, Jesse Arms of Normanna; one son, Tommy (Tammy) Daughtrey of Brownwood; three daughters, Michelle (Casey) Scheffel of Normanna, Sherrie (Jay) Koch of Lancaster, Pa., and Valerie Daughtrey (Wally Hartsfield) of Kenedy; four brothers, George Minor of Oak Harbor, Wa., Joe Minor of Marion, David Minor of Burmingham and Kenneth Minor of Normanna; seven sisters, Mary Ann Stevens of Canyon Lake, Helen Postell of Goliad, Jennie Minor of Schertz, Cindy Sterling, Darlene Grace and Kathy Hadlock, all of New Braunfels, and Donna Maynard of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren, Christian Scheffel, Ashton Scheffel, Gavin Scheffel, Michael Daughtrey, Jentry Larkin, Noah Kock and McKenna Hartsfield. Visitation was held Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral chapel, where funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Rev. Brian Simon officiated and burial followed at San Domingo Cemetery in Normanna. Pallbearers were Tyler Hadlock, Bret Hadlock, Austin Hadlock, Derrik Toro, Chris Skau, Buddy Martin, Darrell Washington and Jeremy Pashia.
