Her last project was building a home for her family in Rockport. She was actively involved in every step of the process and loved every minute of it.
Gwen's greatest joy in life was her family. She married James Blackburn on July 6, 1991. They spent years enjoying love and laughter. She felt that her greatest accomplishment were her sons and the fine men they became. She loved their families with a passion, spending many hours with her daughters-in- law and her beloved grandchildren.

Gwen is survived by her husband, James Blackburn of Beeville; two sons, Hunt Walker (Sharon) Sherman of Rockport and Wade Fischer (Betsy) Sherman of Houston; a stepson, John Louis Blackburn; four grandchildren, Connor, Caitlin, Madeline and Luke Sherman; two brothers, Tommy (Mary) Daughters of Bayview and David (Lynn) Daughters of Waco.
