Harvey Henry Morsbach, 72, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Harvey was born September 4, 1950, in Olton, Texas, to Victor Eugene Morsbach and Ruby Gertrude (Ferguson) Morsbach. He married Lillie Crump in Georgetown on November 3, 2007. Six months ago, the couple moved to Eagle Lake, and quickly got attached to their new neighbors. He was a successful entrepreneur and proud business owner. He spent many years of his early career in trucking and oilfield management.
Harvey led a Christian life and will be remembered as a man who adored spending time with his large family and many friends. Of his diverse hobbies, he was a licensed amateur radio operator, history buff, loved classic cars and motorcycles, working with his hands, and tinkering with anything mechanical or electronic. Harvey was a master at fixing anything and was the go-to man for everyone who knew him, and even to some who didn’t know him yet. He and Lillie loved looking for treasures at Goodwill, estate sales, and sometimes even dumpsters! They recently meandered around the 90-mile garage sale on Hwy 90. He has no shortage of unfinished projects from those conquests.
Harvey was a deeply caring person, who took the burdens of others and did everything he could to help, even if inconvenient. He was loving, direct and honest. (Maybe a little too direct and honest for some). Those who had the privilege to be in his orbit were truly blessed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Ruby Morsbach; wife, Janice Morsbach; brother, Earl Morsbach; two grandbabies, Luke and Elli Morsbach; niece, Amy Morsbach; and brothers-in-law, Chester Walker and Ralph Brown.
Harvey will be missed by his wife of 15 years, Lillie Morsbach; sisters, Ruth Brown and Annie Walker; daughter, Lynne (Danny) Gentry; son, Vic (Michelle) Morsbach; daughter, Lucy (Frank) Hull; son, Zach (Katherine) Morsbach; and son, Justin Crump.
He was blessed with many grandchildren. Grandpa Harvey and Grandma Lillie’s world really revolved around their grandkids. Daniel, Nicholas, and Josh Gentry; Tessa Hennigen and Jeffrey and Matthew Carnes; Landon, Avi, Jonah, Jacob, Levi, Acacia and Alia Morsbach; LaShonda Penney, LaSondra Rivera, and Tosha Hull; and Madeleine and Hannah Morsbach, as well as 14 great-grandchildren. He was blessed with many friends, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, and nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply.
Celebration of life will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 26, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville followed by a graveside service at the Papalote Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Gentry, Joshua Gentry, Justin Crump, Vic Morsbach, Landon Morsbach, Frank Hull, Jacob Penney, Zach Morsbach, William Couch, Weldon Couch, Tommy Love and Jimmy Fennell.
Lunch will be served at the Papalote Volunteer Fire Department where Harvey served for many years. It will be hot. Please dress comfortably.
If you care to make a donation to Harvey’s memory, we recommend Texas Children’s Hospital or the Lions Club.
