Ruth Dugat passed away peacefully Tuesday morning in the care of her two daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Byron Sidney Dugat; her mother, Maude B. Rigall; her father, CR Rigall; and brother, C.R. Rigall Jr. She is survived by her four children, daughter, Helen Dickensheets and husband Richard of Alvin Texas, son, Sidney Dugat and wife Martha of Beeville, son, Byron R. Dugat and wife Adonna of Kerrville Texas, and daughter, Irene and husband John Stephens of Houston Texas. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Ruth was born Helen Ruth Rigall in an oil field settlement in Oklahoma in January of 1922, and at the age of four her family moved to Beeville. In 1941 she was married to Byron S. Dugat. Along with raising four children, she learned to run the family gun shop and become proficient in gun repair alongside Byron for forty years. She loved hunting and fishing along with shooting skeet, trap, and country doubles competition. Ruth was a very active member of the First Christian Church in Beeville for her entire life until she was unable due to a stroke that she suffered in 2011. She loved God and the life she was blessed to live on her farm north of Beeville. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at The First Christian Church, 715 N. St. Mary's St. Beeville, Texas at 2 p.m. on Saturday December, 20 2014. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
