Helen Gallagher

Helen Angeline (Skoruppa) Gallagher, 83, of George West, Texas, passed away Friday, September 09, 2022.

Helen was born September 07, 1939 in Alice, Texas to Edmond Edward Skoruppa and Annie Vlasta Bubenik Skoruppa.

She married Robert John Gallagher on June 1, 1958. She was a devoted Catholic, a very kind and generous person and a good friend. Helen was known as a great cook and she loved animals especially cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 23 years; and two brothers, Edmond John Skoruppa and Allee Lurtice Skoruppa.

Survivors include three brothers, Raymond Adolf Skoruppa, William “Bill” August (Peggy) Skoruppa and Tommy Lee (Thea) Skoruppa; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, at St. George Catholic Church with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mark Skoruppa, Tony Kaase, Jacob Kaase, Ryan Kaase, James Davis, John Walker, Michael Trbula and Edmond Skoruppa.
