Henry E. "Ike" Houdmann, 92, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018. Mr. Houdmann was born October 4, 1925, in Live Oak County to Mary (Brieton) and Ed Houdmann. He was a Navy veteran who served during WWII. He was a former mayor of George West, director of First National Bank and South Trust Bank, a Postal Rural Route Carrier, Rancher and Farmer. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church.
He is survived by his two sisters, Dorothy Davis of Jourdanton and Edna Kellner of Utopia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his cousins, Bill and Lana Holland, William and Anna Holland, Gus and Riley Holland, Nate and Marlana Mauer, Jet and Rhett Mauer, Diana and Randy Giesler, Rick and Allison Tillotson, Pat and Teri Murphy, Cindy Houdmann, Justin and Cory Houdmann, Baron and Holden Houdmann, Josh and Courtney Likens, Jack, Abigail, Parker and Hudson Likens.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 21st, 2018, at St. George Catholic Church with a rosary recited there that evening at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22nd, 2018, at St. George Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Holland, Justin Houdmann, Nate Mauer, Shea Houdmann, Bill Kellner, Alvaro Camarillo, Matt Murphy and Jody Hines. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Keifer, Mark Katzfey, Antonio Rangel, Pedro Rangel, Miles Bradley, Mike Kellner and Milton Kellner.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Houdmann Scholarship Fund at South Trust Bank.
