Homer Dell Curby, Jr., 85, a respected community member and a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully at his home in Beeville, Texas, on March 24, 2025. Born on February 4, 1940, in Beeville to Homer Dell Curby Sr. and Leona (Reader) Curby, Homer lived a life that was characterized by hard work and devotion to his loved ones.
Homer’s career in the oilfield industry reflected not only his professional expertise but also his personal philosophy - he truly loved to work. This passion extended beyond his job; he found joy in creating and building things out of wood and metal or fixing motors. He cherished the time spent with his family as well as in nature, enjoying the peace of hunting and fishing.
With a personality described as that of a very good man, Homer was deeply committed to his family. He married his beloved wife, Carolyn Foster, on July 8, 1961, in Reynosa, Mexico. Their union stood as a testament to his dedication to providing and caring for his family, a role he truly embraced.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Leona and Homer Curby Sr.; and a brother, Robert L. Curby.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn (Foster) Curby of Beeville; two sons, Thomas (Norma) Curby of Mississippi and Randy (Melissa) Curby of Seguin; one grandson, Brandon (Jessica) Curby; and two great-granddaughters, Cheyenne and Savannah Curby.
