James "Jimmy" Blair, 82, of Beeville, died Sunday, May 24, 2015. Mr. Blair was born Sept. 2, 1932, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Vernie (Breece) and Louie Charter Blair. He married Marvene Harris in Oklahoma, served in the U.S. Army and was a permit agent for Western Geophysical for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Vernie Blair; a sister Tommie Rounsaville; and a step-brother, Mike Harris. Survivors include his wife, Marvene Blair of Beeville; three children, Lori (Joe) Garcia and Ron Blair, both of Beeville, and Robert "Bobby" Blair of Corpus Christi; a step-sister, LuAnne (Bob) Payne of Oklahoma; a granddaughter, April Harris; three great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Fern Harris. Visitation was held Thursday, May 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted there Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m. with Brother Bruce King officiating. Musical selections were provided by Pat Coffee and will include "I Can Only Imagine," "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
