James F. (Jim) Pugh, 83, passed away on December 19, 2014. He was born on September 2, 1931 in George West, Texas to William F. and Dora (Grover) Pugh. On April 7, 1953 he married Helen Elizabeth Hoelscher in Violet, Texas. In enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 1952 and was honorable discharged on June 1960. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. George Catholic Church. He retired from the Texas Highway Dept. Jim is survived by his wife, Helen Elizabeth Pugh of George West; 4 daughters, Deborah Pugh of George West, Mary Pat (Doug) Stewart of George West, Cheryl (Mike) Redding of Sisterdale, Susan (Keith) Stapleton of George West; grandchildren, Chad (Kristin) Stewart of George West, Todd (Megan) Stewart of George West, Tucker Redding SJ of George West, Joshua (JoAnna) Stapleton of Three Rivers, Leslie (Eddie) Robledo of Austin, Wesley Stapleton of Three Rivers; great grandchildren, McKinzie Stewart, Declan Stewart, Evan Stapleton, Emma Stapleton, Maddy Stapleton; sister, Margaret C. James of George West; sister-in-law; Teresa Huebner; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday December 22, 2014 at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. George Catholic Church in George West. Interment will follow at Gussettville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willie James, Jimmy James, Tom Bartlett, Chuck Campbell, Bill Pugh, Chad Stewart, Todd Stewart, L.J.(Joe) Bartlett.
