James Oren (Jimmy) Lindholm, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2017. He was born on October 11, 1929, to James Oren and Susie (Weed) Lindholm in Beeville, Texas. Jimmy proudly served his country during the Korean War. He married Joyce Williams on July 15, 1955. He was a member of the St. George Catholic Church and worked as an engineer for the Texas Highway Department. He was a member of the VFW, was a retired volunteer fire fighter and an umpire for the South Live Oak Little League. He loved spending time watching his grandchildren in their various sports and school related activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oren and Susie Lindholm; his wife Joyce Lorraine Lindholm; and his youngest son, Bart Wayne Lindholm.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Margaret Whitaker and husband Lynn of George West; son, Guy Eddie Lindholm and wife Roxanne of Georgetown; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Visitation was held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with a rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, at St. George Catholic Church with Father George Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Gussettville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cory Bednorz, Lynn Whitaker, Garrett Lindholm, Mitchell Williams, David Williams and Aubrey Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Taylor and Jordan Lindholm, Eugene Bednorz, Jim C. Pugh, Lamar James and Larry Lee.
