James Trafton

James Lewis Trafton, 75, of Berclair, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He was born May 10, 1934, in San Antonio to Robert L. and Edith Mae Yeoman Trafton. He graduated from A.C. Jones High School and attended Southwest Texas State College. He married Marjorie Eloise McCutcheon on April 15, 1980, in Corpus Christi. He was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Berlin crisis. He was an environmental specialist for refineries and a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Mr. Trafton was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Eloise Trafton of Berclair, two sons, Edward (Lisa) Trafton of Schertz and Stephen (Sue) Trafton of Kingsville; two daughters, Tammi (Keith) Johnson of Freeport and Sheryl (James W.) Hunt of Skidmore; two stepsons, Curtis Lee of Garland and Maurice Lee of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother, Robert L. (Frances) Trafton of Claremore, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation is being held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Philip's Church with Rev. Howard Hartzog officiating. The organist will be Louise Mayberry. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Galveston Burn Unit, Shriners Hospital for Children, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550.
