James Weaver

James "Buddy" Weaver, 78, of Beeville died Friday, May 21, 2010. Mr. Weaver was born Oct. 2, 1931, to Hurley Weaver and Thelma Gunlock. He was a truck driver, a member of the Protestant church and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hurley Weaver and Thelma Gunlock Smith; and a sister, Peggy Weaver Brawner. Survivors include a son, Scott Weaver of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Denise Friday of Crosby; three grandsons, James Weaver of San Antonio, Justin Weaver of Corpus Christi and Jacob Weaver of Austin; two granddaughters, Jennifer Hite and Lacey Truxaw, both of Beeville; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery. Musical selections consisted of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder". Honorary pallbearers were Scott Weaver, James Weaver, Justin Weaver, Jacob Weaver, Bill Scarberry, Buddy Duge and Ray Caldwell. Galloway & Sons Funeral Home
