Jan Horton

Beeville, Texas Jan Levon Horton, 81, passed away on March 16, 2012. He was born on October 1, 1930 in East Lansing, Michigan to Levon Edgar and Donna Dean (Sherman) Horton. He graduated from Macomber High School in Toledo, Ohio and married Jeannie McGill Henderson on July 15, 1959 in Cambridge, England. He was Baptist, a United States Navy veteran and served in Korea with Underwater Demolition Team #3. Jan was a real estate broker, owner of Town & County Realty and was past president of Bee County Board of Realtors. He worked with youth football, and was past president for Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball and A.C. Jones Athletic Booster Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie McGill Horton. Jan is survived by sons, Tracy Horton of League City, Texas and Shane Horton of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandsons, Jason Baker, Jared Horton, Dennis Horton, and Corey Horton; four great granddaughters; two sisters, Linda Lee Bassett of Chico, CA and Leslie Fleischman of Northridge, CA; and one brother, Wayne Maynard of Orosi, CA. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
