Jared Hammond

Jared Lee Hammond, 32, of Beeville, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, in Lubbock, Texas, due to injuries sustained from a car accident.

Jared was born December 12, 1985, in Beeville, Texas, to Jeffery and Melinda (Elling) Hammond. He was a 2004 graduate of A.C. Jones High School in Beeville, Texas. He earned a Phlebotomy certification from Coastal Bend College. He was a member of the A.C. Jones choir and loved to sing. He was a strong swimmer who loved lifeguarding and teaching kids (and a few adults) to swim. He was an avid Gamer, enjoyed singing karaoke, tormenting and teasing his sisters, barbecuing and chillin' with his friends, and fishing with his dad. He was currently a Crane Operator for ACP out of Corpus Christi, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Vinita (Brown) Elling of Beeville; paternal grandfather, Ward Leighton Hammond Jr. of Beeville; and one uncle, Lawrence John Elling of Brownwood.

He is survived by his parents, Jeffery and Melinda Hammond of Beeville; two sisters, Whitney Hammond of San Antonio and Reagan Hammond of Beeville; girlfriend, Jessica Garza of Beeville; paternal grandmother, Mildred (Grimes) Hammond of Beeville; and several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, at Adams Street Church of Christ in Beeville, Texas. Officiating the service will be Daniel Garza. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Mark Cruz, Jeremiah Cruz, Jeremy Driggs, Leonardo Gonzales and Jesus (Jesse) Trevino.

Honorary pallbearers will be cousins, Robby Dobra, Kim (Elling) Hurt, Leslie (Elling) Perkins, Ryan Dobra, Andrew Elling, Jordan Tindol, Colton Tindol, Jacob Hammond, Bonnie Hammond and Anna Hammond.
