Jeanette Whelchel

Jeanette Earline Whelchel, 81, formerly of Mathis, Beeville and Olmos, Texas, died February 11, 2014 in Richmond, Texas.

Jeanette was born to Herman and Selma Sliva, on November 2, 1932 in Olmos, Texas. She married Bailey Whelchel on June 11, 1950, in Beeville, Texas. She was a retired Tax Assessor/Collector for the Skidmore-Tynan ISD.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bailey, a brother, Glen Sliva and her parents. Jeanette is survived by three daughters; Joy Whelchel of Cibolo, Texas; Barbara (Jerry) Richardson of Matagorda, Texas; JoAnn (Charlie) Whelchel of Universal City, Texas, one son, Ron Whelchel of Spring, Texas, and one grandson, Brent Richardson (Shelby) of Richmond, Texas. She is also survived by her sisters, Margie Jostes, Dorothy Hancock, Peggy Gannon and Sharon McDonald.



Visitation was held from 10:00-Noon on Friday, February 14, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 at Beeville Memorial Park.
