Jesse Cabrera DeLeon, beloved son, husband, brother, uncle and friend to all, departed this world in the peace of Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was 68.
Jesse was born January 9, 1953 in Three Rivers, Texas, to Juan Manuel DeLeon and Mary (Cabrera) DeLeon. He married Becky Goynes in George West on October 18, 2014.
He retired as manager of Lowe’s Grocery in Freer in 2017 and was presently working with Allied Security Services at the Valero Refinery in Three Rivers.
Jesse was a faithful member of St. George Catholic Church in George West.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan DeLeon.
Survivors include his mother, Mary DeLeon of San Antonio; wife, Becky DeLeon of George West; three sisters, Barbara (Cruz) Garza of Victoria and Elsie (Ignacio) Garcia and Jude (Dana) DeLeon, both of San Antonio; his beloved nephews and niece whom he was so fond of, Carlos, Gerald and Bryan Garza and Sean, Chris, Jon and Angela Garcia; two stepdaughters, Blanche Marie Hamrick of Three Rivers and Grace Hamrick (Gabe) Gomez of Cedar Park; a stepson, Thomas Paul Hamrick of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; and six step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 24, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A Rosary will be recited at St. George Catholic Church at 7 o’clock that evening.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 25, at St. George Catholic Church with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial will follow in the Gussettville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Garza, Gerald Garza, Bryan Garza, Jon Garcia, Chris Garcia, Jude DeLeon, Gabe Gomez and Isaiah Gomez.
