Jesse Edwin McKinney, Jr.

Jesse Edwin McKinney, Jr. passed peacefully from his earthly existence on January 12, 2025. Jesse was born on December 10, 1942 to Jesse Edwin McKinney, Sr. and Francis Ellis Golding in the Beeville Hospital, was reared in Pettus, Texas on the McKinney Ranch, graduated from Pettus High School in 1960, attended Schreiner Institute in Kerrville and then A&I University in Kingsville.

Jesse loved his family, his God, his Church and cars and could give you statistics on any auto of any year. He had the family history in his head (names, dates and how related) and was also a history buff. Always a Christian, who attended the Methodist Church every Sunday until he was physically unable, he also whole-heartedly immersed himself in the Emmaus Community, saying it gave him a whole new life. He happily and enthusiastically attended Emmaus Walks and Gatherings in San Antonio, locally and Corpus Christi for many, many years.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse is survived by his sisters, Elaine McKinney and Linda (John Humston) McKinney; brother Ellis Ray (Sarah) McKinney, nephew Dominic (Tracey) Favaro, nieces Tiffany Favaro (Lane) Traylor, Maggie (Eric Garcia) McKinney, Mollie (Rob) Elizalde, Morgan (Matt) Hancock, Paige (Ryan Breaux) McKinney, Heather (John) Henderson and Claire McKinney.

Huge and special thanks to Exclusive Home Health, Exclusive Hospice Nurses, Steve Castillo, his Brother-in-Faith Richard Perry and his longtime caregivers (Rachel Villareal, Terri Garcia and Lisa Salinas) who all loved Jesse like he was their own.
