Jimmy Lewis Myers, 85, of Beeville died Monday, April 2, 2012. Mr. Myers was born March 22, 1927, in Breckenridge to Annie Love Whatley and Charles Arthur Myers Sr. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Una "Happy" Mills in Beeville on Nov. 23, 1951. He was retired from Pan American Petroleum and was a Bee County 4-H leader for 30 years. He was a Baptist, a Mason and a member of the VFW and of the Beeville Volunteer Fire Department for more than 30 years. He loved to hunt, fish and loved his tractors and cows. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Charles A. Myers Jr.; a half-brother, J.B. Eisley; and half-sisters, Jo Ann Menking and Ruth Hart. Survivors include two sons, Glen L. (Germaine) Myers of Port Lavaca and James D. Myers of Moody; a daughter, Jeannie S. Myers (Mervin Whitley) of Lagarto; a brother, Robert J. Myers of Rockport; four grandchildren, Keith A. Myers, Melissa G. Wardlaw, Hunter Myers and Keller Myers; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel. The funeral service will be conducted there at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, with Rev. Don Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mervin Whitley, Jimmy Edward Jones, Donnie Morris, O.E. King, Edwin Younts, Leonard Fluitt, Sandy Tullis, Kevin Whitley, and Sonny Whitley.
