Joe "Bud" Coley Jr., 85, of Beeville, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011. Mr. Coley was born April 1, 1926, in Haynesville, La., to Nora Dunham and Joe Coley. He married Regena Mulinix in Alice on Jan. 19, 1951, and served in the U.S. Navy. He was an iron worker in construction by trade and was a Baptist, a past member of the American Legion, a life member of the VFW Post No. 9170, and a member of the Iron Workers Union and Pipefitter Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Nora Coley; three brothers, Robert, George and John Roy Coley; a sister, Bonnie Long; and a grandson, Cody Morgan. Survivors include his wife, Regena Coley of Beeville; two sons, Charlie Coley and George Coley, both of Beeville; two daughters, Nora Lee Raciot of Vermont and Martha Morgan of Beeville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Coleman (Millie) Mulinix of Corpus Christi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons chapel. The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, Oct. 13, with Rev. Homer Hanna officiating. Musical selections will include "A Father's Love" and "Amazing Grace." Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Coburn, Roy Coley, Arthur Smith, Robert Doubrava Jr., Juan Alcorta and Wade Banta. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
