Joella Mcguill

Joella (Waggoner) McGuill of Refugio passed away Friday, December 28, 2012. She was born on July 28, 1929 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Inez and George Ray Edmondson. She married Pat McGuill on July 27, 1949 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Refugio. She attended school in Palacios and Refugio. She was a devoted member to Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church and St. Catherine's Mission Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Pat McGuill, and her brother Grady Waggoner. She is survived by two sons: Grady Pat (Ruby) McGuill of Lexington and Ray (Gaylla) McGuill of Whitesboro; four daughters: Donna (Bob) Caughron of Lampasas, Christie (Steve) Knudsen of Kingsville, Judith McGuill of Refugio, and Aleene McGuill Prause of Beeville; 13 grandchildren: Sean and Kathlyn McGuill; April Ochoa, Jeremiah and Benjamin Caughron; Leslie, Amy, and Sallie Knudsen; Shane (Casie) Brister and Sarah Brister; Paden and Quinten Stanley; and Kelsey McGuill; and 7 great-grandchildren: Catherine and Cassidy Gribble, Clarissa and Cierra Ochoa, Braxton Caughron, Brady Brister, and Makynleigh Stanley; two sisters-in-law: Anne Hawkins of Temple and Mary Helen Duchek of Nixon; two brothers-in-law: Father Martin McGuill of Ft. Myers, Virginia and Michael McGuill (Joyce) of Refugio. Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Beeville, Texas. Rosary will be held at Saint Catherine's Catholic Church in Blanconia on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 7pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Refugio on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Refugio. Pallbearers are Mick O'Brien, Clay Myers, Mike Myers, John Barber, Mark Hawkins, and Tim Marquis. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Catherine's Mission Church of Blanconia, Texas.
