John Burman Anderson, 83, passed away on March 9, 2015. He was born on May 6, 1931, to T.N. and Ethel (Hamstram) Anderson in Hutto, Texas. He served in the United States Navy. On April 11, 1958, he married Cathleen Dycus-Hollan in Sinton, Texas. He was a Methodist. He worked as a measurement engineer with TransContinental Gas & Pipeline (now Williams Transco) retiring in 1992. He enjoyed woodwork and deer hunting. He enjoyed mechaniching and drag racing his cars in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Anderson; two granddaughters, Constance and Elizabeth Steele; and one nephew, Jeff Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Cathleen Anderson of Beeville; three sons, Darren (Melanie) Anderson of Roanoke, Alabama, Andy Anderson and Kelly Anderson both of Beeville; one daughter, Stacy (Jack) Steele of Tuleta; one sister, Anna Gillespie of Houma, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Amber, Patrick, and Mathew Steele, Cody, and Megan Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Carson, and Collin Steel; and two nephews, Danny Anderson and Dodd James. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, at Glenwood Cemetery.
