John Lyne

John Edward Lyne was born June 17, 1967 in Houston, Texas, to Rufus Rogers Lyne and Susie Lyne. He graduated from George West High School in 1986. He later married Crystal Schweihs in September of 2001.
John, age 51, of George West, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018.
John went to Sam Houston State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree. He was an active member in the college rodeo circuit, where he traveled frequently competing in team roping competitions. Upon graduation, John returned to his home town, George West, Texas where he began working in the oilfield industry and later became a partner in Southern Lease Service.
Over the years, John was instrumental in developing a broad portfolio of businesses ranging from Longhorn Supply Company, Camco Salt Water Disposal, King Klaw Truck Accessories, Time Technical Amine Plants, DJM Water and Tejas Lease Service.
John was known for his thoughtful and caring spirit, big heart and mischievous personality. He was the guy you wanted to talk to, and you would see his big smile and knew he cared. He was a rock and always there for his friends, but his family was the center of his universe. John loved hunting and fishing with his son, Blayne, and nothing got them more excited than the redfish running in Laguna Madre. He could also be found eating popcorn at the London Lady Pirate volleyball games while cheering on his beloved daughter, Ashley.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, JT and Annie Ruth Lyne and Edward and LaVanche Holt; and his father, Rufus Lyne.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Crystal; son, Blayne Edward (12); daughter, Sara Ashley (15); and mother, Susie Lyne. He is also survived by his sister, Sunny Lyne-Ackerman and husband, John; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Brush Country Cowboy Church, 1417 So. Hwy 37 Access Road in George West, Texas.
