John Zimmer

John Stephen Zimmer, 91, went home to his Lord on November 29, 2015. He was born on December 26, 1923, to William and Anna Paetzold Zimmer in La Porte. He married Marjorie on June 25, 1945. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as the Knights of Columbus and the Beeville Chamber of Commerce. He also served in the Prison Ministry in Beeville. John Zimmer lived in Beeville most of his life and was the owner of Zimmer Floral and Nursery. He was preceded in death by a son, David Zimmer; his parents; four brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Zimmer of Beeville; as well as four sons, John Zimmer and wife, Marji of Beeville, Blaine Zimmer and wife, Delva of Austin, Paul Zimmer and wife, Irene of Beeville and Matt Zimmer and wife, Glenda of Johnson City, Oregon. He is also survived by 11 beloved grandchildren and nine beloved great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Beeville, followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery in Beeville. Pallbearers will be Isaac Zimmer, Paul Zimmer Jr., Matthew Zimmer Jr., Cody Zimmer, Matt Wagner and David Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Hale, Nick Cardenas, Joe Linnstaeder, and Joe Poses.
