Joseph Kirby, Jr.

Joseph Shelton Kirby Sr., 51, of Beeville, died Saturday, July 23, 2011. Mr. Kirby was born Aug. 31, 1959, in Hanford, Calif., to Virginia Rae Yaws and Arthur Francis Kirby. He married Karla Squires in Beeville on June 1, 2008, and was a truck driver for On The Job Concrete/McAllen Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Francis Kirby and Virginia Rae Sheetz; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Rebecca. Survivors include his wife of three years, Karla Kirby of Beeville; a daughter, Hope Ann Hicks Bohannon of California; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kirby II of Alice and Michael A. C. Kirby of Beeville; a step-father, Francis Sheetz; a brother, Michael J. Kirby of Ben Bolt; two sisters, Dora Cozart of Ben Bolt and Jeanie Massaro of Beeville; three nieces and three nephews; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
