Josephine Clevenger, 85, of Papalote, Texas, passed away on July 1, 2016. She was born on June 3, 1931, in Iowa to Bessie Jane and Joseph Vernon Dicks. She married Billy Gene Clevenger on June 11, 1948, in Liberty, MO. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Skidmore where she taught Sunday school classes. She also volunteered at the hospital in Beeville. She was retired from C.C.I.S.D. where she was a cafeteria manager. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Vera Graham. She is survived by her children, Elina Jane (Larry) Butler of Papalote, Connie Jean (Chris) Comeaux of Pleasanton, Ronald William Clevenger of Papalote and Michael Wayne (Linda) Clevenger of Papalote; brother, Joseph Dicks; sister, Janie Hurt, brother, Herb Duke and brother, Richard Duke; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Skidmore with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Papalote Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Butler, Troy Butler, Brian Comeaux, Ryan Clevenger, Taylor Clevenger and Brad Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Quint Butler, Michael Balderas and Chaise Balderas.
