Juanita Perez

Juanita Guerrero Perez, 84, of George West, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017.

Mrs. Guerrero was born in Live Oak County on Dec. 29, 1932, to Zaragosa and Mary Guerrero. She married Encarnacion Perez Jr. on April 11, 1955, in George West and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing and being around children and animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Atanacio Guerrero and Justo Guerrero; and one sister, Valentina Guerrero Reese.

Survivors include a son, Eliseo (Lupita) Perez of Jourdanton; three grandchildren, Eliseo Perez Jr., Ernest Perez and Erika Elaina Perez; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Pumposa Guerrero, Anestacio Guerrero, Matilde Mendita, Alejos Guerrero, Florentino Guerrero, Anselmo Guerrero, Zaragosa Guerrero Jr., Avarista Gutierrez, Alejandra Sedillo and Cata Rosales; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, from noon to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at St. George Catholic Church with Father George Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George Guerrero, Georgen Guerrero, Eliseo Perez Jr., Ernest Perez, Eliseo Perez III and Carlos Perez.
