She was born in Goliad, Texas on July 15, 1923 to the late Pablo and Sulema (Garcia) Garza. She married Gerald V. Garcia on May 7, 1943 in Beeville, TX. Julia was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was retired from Paul Bruner's and Anthony's Department Stores. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald V. Garcia on June 28, 2006, her parents and sister, Stella Cisneros. She is survived by her daughter, Nelda (Ray) Govella of Beeville. TX; son, Gerald (Chris) Garcia, Jr. of Washington, DC; sisters, Frances (Joe Henry) Lazarine of Beeville, TX; and Ginger Canon of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Gerry Garcia, Wendy (Ken) McDonald, Michael (Lilly) Govella, and Christopher (Misty) Govella; great grandchildren, Marcus Govella, Samantha Perez, Justin Govella, Alexis Byron, Regine Govella, Joe McDonald, Jade Rodriguez and Matthias Govella. Visitation will be held at Galloway & Sons Chapel on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. A rosary will be recited that evening at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marcus Govella, Justin Govella, Michael Govella, Gerry Garcia, Christopher Govella, Regine Govella and Samantha Perez.
