Commissioner Julius Robert Helm, 84, passed away on December 10, 2012 from complications from pneumonia. He served the members of his community as a Bee County Commissioner from 1979 through 1986. He was born February 8, 1928, in Tynan, Texas, to the late William Carl and Josephine Helm and lived in Bee County for most of his life. On July 17, 1985, he married Joan Kimball, a loving marriage that lasted 27 years until his death. Commissioner Helm is survived by his wife, Joan Helm of Mineral; his brother, Robert Helm of Midland; and sisters Elizabeth Rogers of San Antonio and Virginia Hale of Three Rivers; three stepchildren; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Chapel in Beeville. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 14, 2012, at 10:00 am at Galloway Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Helm-Kimball ranch in Mineral.
