KATHLEEN RUTH WALDIE MCCARTY HUNTER After 91 years of a full and happy life, Kathleen (Tubby) Ruth Waldie McCarty Hunter went home on May 28, 2013. She was born May 5, 1922 to Myrtie and Claude A. Waldie of Floresville, Texas, the youngest of seven children. All of her siblings and her parents have gone before her. Her daughter Kathleen Dalton Ferguson and husbands William Dalton (Bill) McCarty and Laurie Demouche Hunter predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Claudia McCarty Roeser, her granddaughters, Meredith McCarty Riddle, Emily Roeser Wehring and husband Jonathan, Elizabeth Riddle Anders and husband David and great-grandchildren Anna Boehm Wehring, Caroline McCarty Wehring, Ella Elizabeth Wehring and Oliver Dalton Anders as well as nieces and nephews. She is also survived by stepchildren, Mary Lou Hunter Vielock, Larry Talbert Hunter, Darius Crayton Hunter and John Floyd Hunter and a host of Hunter family which she married into and took as her own. Tubby loved her family, her friends, her community and her church. After spending her adult life in Beeville, she retired to Houston seven years ago to be with family, but never ceased missing friends in Beeville. She was an avid sportswoman who loved to hunt and a superb athlete, playing tennis well into her 70's. She was a poet, a fine arts lover, a world traveler, a businesswoman and a fashion maven extraordinaire ... an enthusiastic and competitive participant in whatever she chose to do. Pall Bearers are David Anders, Philip Ferguson, D. Crayton Hunter, Crayton Hunter, John Hunter, Larry Hunter, Wesley Hunter, Bob Vielock, Hunter Vielock, Wade Vielock and Jonathan Wehring. Services will be in Beeville, Texas at the First Methodist Church, 106 East Cleveland Street, 78102 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, June 1, 2013.
