Kenneth Dale Chandler passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in his home in Tuleta, Texas at the age of 72.
Kenneth was born December 13, 1950, in Aransas Pass to James Melton and Idella Mildred (Nelson) Chandler. He was a 1969 graduate of Pettus High School and his love for education led him to pursue three master’s degrees at Texas A&I University specializing in the fields of education, mechanics and agriculture.
Upon retiring from Pawnee High School as an agriculture teacher, Kenneth dedicated his time to ranching and raising cattle. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved country life. He enjoyed playing 42 with his family and was proud of his kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Idella Chandler; his eldest brother, Dr. James M. Chandler Jr.; and sister-in-law, Lucy Chandler.
Survivors include his Uncle Art (Aunt Liz) Nelson; two brothers, Nelson (Merilyn) Chandler and Byron (JoAnn) Chandler; two sisters, Della Chandler (Lowell) Smith and Mary Hudson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Chandler; his children, Wendy Chandler (Jeff) Rogers, Gayle Chandler, Eli (Ashley) Chandler and Lorayne Chandler (S.T.) Payan; grandchildren, Justin (Victoria), Trenton, Christian, Colton, Payton, Madeline, Bryce, Johnathon, Audrina and Nathaniel; three great-grandchildren, Aryia, Logan and Leia Bow; other special loved ones, Clara Bow Lansford, mother-in-law; Cynthia Lansford Phillips, former wife; and Connie Alaniz, companion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22, at the Pettus Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to bring a good story to share at Kenneth’s celebration of life service.
