Leonard Allen Robinson, Sr.

Leonard Allen Robinson, Sr., a devoted family man, respected Army veteran and beloved community member, passed away on December 8, 2023, at the age of 72.

Leonard was born August 5, 1951, in Beeville to Jesse Nevy Lee Robinson and Bertha Ann (Canada) Robinson. After completing his education at A.C. Jones High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired after 20-plus years of dedicated service. He was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a devoted father to his sons. He cherished spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting and family camp outs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ann Hankerson, Jackie Myrick and Illa Stovall; and a brother, Edward Robinson.

Survivors include his loving friend and caregiver to whom the family is so grateful for taking care of him, Betty Powell; his six sons, Jesse Robinson of Fort Worth, Edward (Melanie) Robinson of Beeville, Leonard Allen Robinson, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jonathan Leonard Robinson of Beeville, Thomas William Robinson of Augusta, Georgia and Brian Robinson of San Antonio; three brothers, Jesse Robinson of Beeville, Ray Barefield of Beeville and Robert Robinson of Harker Heights; three sisters, Faye Harmon, Rose Phillips and Estherlene Smith, all of Beeville; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 15, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 16, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Tarver officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Robinson, James Robinson, Bobby Ray Robinson, J.J. Robinson, Rodney Robinson, Christian Robinson, Robbie Robinson, Bruce Myrick and Trey Hamilton.
