Lillie Barrientes, 86, of Beeville died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010. Ms. Barrientes was born July 3, 1924, to Luciana (Zavala) and Antonio Barrientes. She was a salesperson at Anthony's Department Store for 27 years and at Bealls Department Store for 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Luciana Barrientes; a daughter, Effie Jo B. Loya; and a brother, Alfonso Barrientes. Survivors include a sister, Lucy Blakely of DeSoto; two brothers, Antonio Barrientes Sr. of Florida and Salvador Z. "Chuco" Barrientes of Beeville; four children, Salvador G. (Julie) Barrientes of California, Raymond Anthony (Elva) Barrientes of Beeville, Sal (Mary Lou) Barrientes Jr. of Beeville and Dolores "Chach" Rodriguez of Beeville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Sebastian Thomas officiating. Special selections were provided by Fernando Cisneros. Burial followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Blakely, Reno Blakely, Ralph Blakely, Eric Garza, David Barrientes, Tony Barrientes, Philip Barrientes and Antonio Barrientes. Honorary pallbearers were Roland Rodriguez, Salvador Barrientes, Sal Barrientes, Rudy Blakely, Louie Blakely, R.A.
