Londa Trial

Londa W. Trial, 81, went home to her Lord on August 14, 2016. She was born on December 5, 1934 in Beeville, Texas to Floyd E. and Ruby Lee (Claunch) West. She married Paul Trial on February 4, 1956 in Austin, Texas. Londa rose through the ranks at KTBC television station in Austin, starting as a clerk, ushering in their entire computer system at a time when computers were relatively new, and finally reaching the level of program director and operations manager. At this executive level, she traveled nationwide, meeting with television producers and various celebrities, buying (or not!) their TV shows. Londa was a proud member of Women in Radio & Television. In 1993, Londa was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Again showing her determination to rise above, she and Paul educated themselves, and Londa began volunteering in the Cardiac Rehab program at Seton Hospital. Londa was able to survive with CHF 23 years, not only beating the odds, but stomping them into the ground. Londa and Paul returned to live in Beeville in December 2007, becoming members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition, they became active in the Do Nothing Club, the Thursday Dinner Club, and the Garden Club, evidence of which is proudly reflected in the Butterfly Garden at Flournoy Park. Londa was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Paul Trial of Beeville; son, Jon Paul Trial and wife Linda of Austin; and brother, James West and wife Janis of Baytown. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
