Eloise Henry Ferguson went to be with our Lord on May 9, 2011, at the age of 86. She was born to John Scott Henry and Octava Hirst Henry on March 27, 1925, in Bee County and was raised in the Orangedale Community . Eloise attended school in Beeville and graduated from A. C. Jones High School in 1942. She met Harvey Elmer Ferguson, and the two were married in 1952, in Duval County. During WWII, Eloise worked at NAS Corpus Christi repairing instruments damaged on the aircrafts. After the war, she worked for Wade & Wade Law Firm in Beeville. Eloise and her husband decided to open up restaurants. Together, they opened up FERGUSON'S. The main location of Ferguson's was in George West. They had additional restaurants in Eagle Pass, Alice, Refugio, Victoria and Odem. Following Mr. Ferguson's death in 1964, she continued to manage the George West and Odem locations until her retirement. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Octava Henry; her husband, Elmer Ferguson; two sisters, Aldis Rossi and Opal Faye Henry; four brothers, Loy Henry, Arthur Henry, John Curtis Henry and Rex Henry. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Sharon Carman of Odem; two grandsons, Leonard Kuykendall of Odem, and Robert Carman and wife Sonia of Victoria; three great-grandchildren, Steven Brandt, Robert Lee Carman and Derrick Carman; two sisters, Shirley Milligan of Yorba Linda, CA, and Evelyn Kramer of Austin; also one brother, Bernard Henry of Austin. Funeral services to celebrate Eloise's life will be on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. A 4 p.m. graveside service will be held later that afternoon in the Cotulla West Cemetery in Cotulla, TX. Honorary pallbearers will be John Christopher Henry, Paul Henry, John Curtis Henry, Jr., Scott Henry, Val Henry, Steve Lawson, and Jeff Henry.
