Louis Hubert LaRose, III, 75, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at his home after an extended illness. Mr. LaRose was born Aug. 12, 1940, to Louis Hubert II and Gertrude Agnes (West) LaRose. He grew up in the Alice area, played football in high school and served in the United States Navy as a Seabee with service in Vietnam. After his return from the service, he attended East Central University in Enid, Oklahoma. He later became a truck driver and a rancher. He became a member of Faith Lutheran Church by Adult Confirmation on May 14, 2000, and married Anita on Aug. 27, 1977. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Anita, on July 24, 2013. Survivors include a brother, Charles LaRose; three sisters, Ollyndya Mason, Gertrude Huggins and Hellen Payton; an aunt, Rita; numerous nieces and nephews; and a stepdaughter, Ressa (Jay) Kelley. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, with Rev. Gary Conklin and Rev. Don Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove.
