Louis Levi McGill, 91, formerly of Beeville, died at Gentiva Hospice in San Antonio Sunday morning, Feb. 22, 2015. Mr. McGill was born April 29, 1923, in Sherman and served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He was retired after 35 years with Southwestern Bell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allie Wesson and Louis Claude McGill; his brother and sister, Clarence McGill and Mildred Stice; two daughters, Betty Dreyer and Faye Rene Fugett; and his wife of 57 years, Beulah Faye McGill. Survivors include his sister, Barbara (Charles) Larpenter; four grandchildren, Patricia Fisher, Lynn Spence, Sherry French, Paul Fugett; and son-in-law, Tommy Fugett; 11 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. The funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. with Brother Larry Martin of Beeville officiating. Wade Martin provided musical selections. Interment followed immediately. Pallbearers were Paul Andrews, Justin Bailey, Lief French, Paul Fugett, Michael Larpenter, Chas Spence, Dr. Allan Spence and Tommy Weaver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
