Louise Jones

Louise Jones 82, of Three Rivers, died Sunday June 19, 2016 after a 5 week battle on and off in ICU, from heart/lung complications. Her brother Ray, son Travis and daughter Lise (by phone) were there at her side, along with Louise's niece Sue Underdown. She is survived by Ray her brother, (closest kin), his son Travis and daughter Lise and a large group of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her siblings Joe, John, R.L (Tuffy) have preceded her in death. Louise was born in three Rivers to Luke (Tex) Jones and Zula Covey Jones. Her schooling up to High School was in Three Rivers. She was the first to graduate from High School in the family. In fact she was valedictorian of her class and eventually earned a Masters degree in Educational Counseling. She worked at a local Oil Company to afford to go to night school and later worked at Riverside Elementary. She spent the next 25 years as a counselor at Riverside, retiring to care for her mother who lived to over 100 years old. Louise loved to travel and visited different parts of the country to see friends each summer. She loved ballroom dancing, Tai Chi and had many friends. She enjoyed spending time with her friend James Sisson MD and loved to share information about health issues. She always envied by the younger nieces as the prettiest and best dressed lady they knew. She will be sorely missed by many. The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers. Interment will follow in Three Rivers Cemetery.
