Lurtice Kolacek

Lurtice Kolacek, 79, of George West, died Thursday, March 31, 2016. Mr. Kolacek was born July 11, 1936, in George West to Don John and Mary Ann (Krugerl) Kolacek. He married Loyce Renick in Corpus Christi on Oct. 16, 1958. He was an oilfield worker and retired from Western Auto in George West and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lester Lynn Kolacek; and a sister, Betty Jean Robinson. Survivors include his wife, Loyce Kolaceck of George West; a son, Larry Lurtice (Wanda Lois) Kolacek of George West; two brothers, Johnny (Gloria) Kolacek of New Braunfels and Jimmy (Marilyn) Kolaceck of Madison; two sisters, Marlene Huegler of Three Rivers and Frances Self of Alice; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West. The funeral service will be conducted there at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, with Rev. Bruce Irving officiating. Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.
