Teach us Delight in simple things." -Kipling Surrounded by her family, Margaret Lyne Moser died peacefully at home on Friday, March 25, 2011. She was born on March 29, 1933, in Del Rio, Texas; her father was John Hobbs Miller and her mother was Catherine Carol Lyne. She grew up in Beeville, Texas with her mother and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Lyne. She attended Beeville public schools through the fifth grade, at which time she entered Saint Mary's Hall in San Antonio, Texas as a boarder. At the end of her junior year, she left Saint Mary's Hall to begin studies at the University of Chicago, where she earned her BA in Liberal Arts. She later earned a second BA, in History and Geography, at the University of Texas and an MA from Trinity University in Gerontology. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William B. Moser. She is also survived by her daughter, Ruth Moser Davies and husband Tom of Austin, Texas; her son, Christopher T. Moser and wife Kimberlea of San Antonio, Texas; her son, William B. Moser III and fiancé Laura Cramer of George West, Texas; her son, Edward Z. L. Moser and his wife, Elizabeth, of San Antonio, Texas; her six grandchildren: Lillian Davies de Gournay of Paris, France; Leslie Aniela Davies of Austin, Texas; Elizabeth Lyne Moser, Kathryn Olivia Moser, Emma Catherine Moser and William Mahlon Moser of San Antonio, Texas; and her great-granddaughter, Willamina E. Catherine de Gournay. In addition, she is survived by her brother, John Miller of Sinton, Texas; and her sister, Mary Clanton and husband John of Corpus Christi, Texas; as well as her several nieces and nephews. Of her many accomplishments within her community, she was an active member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beeville, Texas. She was Trustee Emeritus of the Joe Barnhart Foundation and an ardent supporter of Joe Barnhart Bee County Library and the Beeville Art Museum. In 2003, she was named Bee County Citizen of the Year. She enjoyed traveling, and, as an avid reader, she relished travel literature. She was also a dedicated writer, and authored a two-volume history of Bee County, Texas. She treasured her teachers at Saint Mary's Hall (especially Miss Essen in Latin, Mrs. Brooks in English and Se�orita Solis in Spanish) and followed in their footsteps as a teacher herself in the Beeville Public Schools and at St. Philip's Episcopal School, where she especially cherished her reading enrichment class. Saint Mary's Hall honored her with The Distinguished Alumna Award in 2006. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the family residence in Beeville, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beeville, Texas with Rev. Clayton Elder officiating. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville, Texas. Pallbearers were William Clanton, Jim Crumrine, Blackstone Dilworth, Jimmy Jackson, Jeff Latcham and Jim McCollom. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Thomas Baynum, Seymour Dreyfus, Jesse Garza, Donald McG Jacobs, Reagan Jordan, Noe Flores, Al Past, Richard Rudeloff, Raymond Welder, Marion Williams and Charles Winston. The family wishes to thank all of her devoted doctors and caregivers, especially Dr. Lon S. Smith, his staff Bonnie Clark and Jennifer Armstrong, and Dr. Amita Patnaik. The family would also like to specifically thank Vitas Hospice Care, particularly Stephanie Whitenack R.N. and Shenae Jarmon C.N.A.
