Margaret (Weaver) Russell, 94, of Beeville, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012. Mrs. Russell was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Freestone County to Bessie Mae Tate and Ben Archie Weaver. She married Charles Scott Russell Sr. in Oklahoma on Dec. 28, 1939, and was a retired school teacher from Skidmore-Tynan ISD. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Highlights Porcelain Arts Club. She was active with many Methodist's women's groups, was bereavement chairman and was a longtime china painter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Archie and Bessie Mae Weaver; her husband, Charles Scott Russell Sr.; and a brother, Bill Weaver. Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Russell Morris of Austin; a son, Charles Scott "Scotty" (Patricia) Russell Jr. of Beeville; four grandchildren, Marian Morris, Michelle Morris Debein, Dawn Russell Lacy and Talton Scott Russell; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Richard) Durham of Illinois; and numerous other family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted there Saturday, March 3, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Chacon, Dr. Gary Williams, Randy Williams, Jeff Morris, Marlin Shears and Talton Russell. Memorials may be sent to South Texas Children's Home.
